Its nerve-wracking. We get it. You enjoy listening to a Welsh Male Voice Choir. You'd love to be part of a choir but haven't got around to it, or too nervous to do it. You're worried about whether you can sing or not. You don't know anyone in the choir. You're too young or too old.
Seriously ?? We've heard all this before. And guess what? Nearly ALL of us have been in a similar position before.
It is at the top of this page, but its TRUE. The hardest part REALLY IS walking through the door. Just come in to the rugby club at 6:30pm on a Thursday, grab yourself a pint or a soft drink. There is no pressure whatsoever. You can simply watch us for some free entertainment. You can sit with us and join in where you want. Or you can dive in head first. We don't care what you do. Just be there.
Bring a friend with you if you want. Maybe send us a message using our contact page, or on Facebook and one of us can meet you before the practice night for a chat.
Eventually, you'll be annoyed with yourself for putting it off all this time. Everyone says the same.
We hear this from an awful lot of people. The choir has a place for everyone. A choir is also able to place you to best suit your range so its easier to hit some of those notes.
Granted a lot of choirs have a lot of older men. And that level of experience is often what gives that level of perfection. Our choir has people in their early 20's up to people in their late 80's. Age really isn't an issue.
We don't ask anyone to sing on their own. Simple as that. Often, newer members will sit amongst the choir, and gradually join in with the songs as they start to feel more confident. Everyone is different.
We completely understand that. It is sometimes the great unknown. That's why we encourage people to come to watch us practice. We are in the rugby club, so just pop in for a pint and watch. At best, it's free entertainment whilst you make your mind up. Bring a friend too !
